Diesel particulate filter subsidies extended for last time

10-01-2011

The extensions
The extension applies to EEV+ delivery vans, delivery vans with a factory-fitted diesel particulate filter and retrofit filters on lorries and mobile working machines, registered or unregistered by 30 September 2011 at the latest. Subsidy requests can be made until 31 December 2011. The changes are described on the following websites (all in Dutch):
• factory-fitted diesel particulate filters on delivery vans: www.agentschapnl.nl/stb;
• EEV+ delivery vans: www.agentschapnl.nl/eev;
• retrofit filters on lorries: www.agentschapnl.nl/srv;
• retrofit diesel particulate filters on mobile working machines: www.agentschapnl.nl/srmw.
The subsidy schemes contribute to reduced emissions of pollutants, including particulates, from road traffic.

Commitments
Last year, over 12,000 vehicle and equipment owners received over 22 million euros in subsidy for the purchase of a diesel particulate filter or a lorry with a cleaner engine. This final extension of the four subsidy schemes fulfils the commitments made by the Dutch government in the fijnstofconvenant bestelauto’s (lorry particulates covenant) and the milieuzoneconvenant (environmental zone covenant).

End of subsidy
The subsidy scheme for retrofit diesel particulate filters in cars ended on 1 January 2011. As of 1 February 2011, EEV buses and lorries are also no longer subsidised. The subsidy is only available in 2011 for delivery vans that meet the EEV standard and have particulate emissions equal to or less than 10 milligrams per kWh.
